Default Very good interview (mandatory listen)

River City Group desktop conference audio link of interview (real player required)

Overview:

Feb. 10, 2005
Frank Fahrenkopf, American Gaming Association

With few exceptions, the land-based casino industry in the United States has played the role of bystander in the explosion of Internet gambling into a multi-billion-dollar business. American casinos were adamantly against online gambling in the mid '90s, but a lot has changed since then, and the prospect of regulated Internet casinos isn't so far-fetched anymore. No one has a better understanding of the land-based casinos' perspective than president and CEO of the American Gaming Association Frank Fahrenkopf, Jr. In this audio interview with IGN publisher Sue Schneider, Fahrenkopf shares his views on numerous I-gaming-related issues, including: the evolution of Internet gambling; upcoming prohibition efforts in Congress; the prospect of a commission to study regulation; barriers to legalized online gambling in the United States; the AGA's position on I-gaming; the U.K. Gambling Bill; the crackdown on advertising in the United States and the U.S/Antigua WTO dispute.
