Because this way you can show down crappy hands on the river with just a flop bet. Protect your turn checks.

I think there are very few players that would notice this nuance and adjust. I think focusing on metagame in this situation is a waste of time. However, I like a call or a small, maybe even min-raise. Since they are pretty much equal, I guess you may as well raise for metagame, but only because it is a very close decision, and I wouldn't expect anybody to play me different later on. Am I not giving my opponents enough respect? I encountered very few thinking players at 100nl.

Nevermind. Reread the action and I missed one of the 2's. I would definitely raise here. To about 20-25.

I don't like the turn check. You won't get any more action on the river unless you are beat, and any T-A is a live out for villain. I'd bet 2/3 pot on the turn.
