Default speeding up Firefox browsing -- good idea?

Hey techies, is there any reason not to do this to your Firefox settings?

for you personally, i can't really think of one. If someone was managing a huge office and everyone did this, i would guess it wouldn't help their bandwidth...but i'm not much of a network guy...

It loads a lot faster, but pictures dont load right. It got so annoying I finally turned it off, and my browsing experience is much better.

Oh, I don't know. I read OOT fairly regularly and don't remember it. If there was a post about this before either it was a long time ago or I missed it for some reason...
