Default Eurobet, moving up from the 1/2 to the 3/6 HELP !!

Trying to transition from the $1 $2 6 handed game at Euro to the $3 $6.

So far this has been disastrous.

I have about 2,000 hands at the $1 /$2 game and I have done well. I would post stats but I assume at this small of a sample they would not be particularly relevent.

I can tell by the play at the tables that the 3/6 is a completely different game. Less weakness, less fish, more average players all around. Less foolish folds on the river. Fewer complete maniacs.

I expected to do a little worse but not to go from winning to losing.

I understand that my sample is small but I really want to know what advice is out there for players moving on up. Is the 1/2 game just a barrel of fishes and I am learning nothing by playing there ? Is the 3/6 game really that much tougher or is variance confounding my efforts.

Any opinions or advice out there ?

I assume that the basic .. tighter more aggressive better reads advice is in order, and I try. I play substantially tighter at 3/6 perhaps too tight ??

Thanks in advance. Sorry for the general question but I am only looking for general advice.

honestly just play more hands. if you've only played 2k hands at 1/2, there's a chance you're not a winner at either game. play at least 10k at 1/2 - move up when you're comfortable.

Dude. My first 2k hands at 1/2 i was a 10BB/100 winner> I gave 3/4's of it back over the next 2k. 2k means absolutely nothing at this game.

Sounds as if you are not ready. Try playing another 8-10K hands at 1/2 to find out if you are an actually winner there before you move up.

The questions you ask about tighetness and agression are too general.

Yes.

No, you're still learning. Especially if you only have 2k hands there. Some people play 2k hands in a day.

Yes. It's tougher. Hard to say how much.

Yes.

a few things. first of all, don't play on eurobet. no reason to not take advantage of the better games at party. secondly, if you're not doing this already, datamine the hell out of the 3/6. you can probably get some eleet hacker internet program to do this for you, but i dunno about that. table selection becomes much more important at 3/6, but its still pretty damn easy to find tables with 3+ donators.

also, just from the tone of your post, i would guess that you are under-rolled for the 3/6 game. i could be totally wrong about this

Good advice everybody, thanks.

Yes I am probably under bank rolled. I have the money and I have won enough at poker this year, part time, that losing a grand would not kill me, much more than that and I would begin to get pissed. I do seem to have passed the point of comfort at the 3/6. $50 pots and $100 losses in minutes make me play a little scared perhaps.

Table selection...
I have found a donor or two at the 3/6 but it seems like at the 1/2 everyone is either a loose donor or so tight that you can walk all over them. I will begin data mining right now !!

Party vs Euro...
I may move to Party. If the games are better there is no reason not to. Are the games better ? I tried Absolute and the only mistake the fish made there was being too tight. So you could steal the blinds but little else. Party has the loose type of fish I hope !!

Variance...
Man oh man you guys make this sound like THE HIGHEST VARIANCE form of holdem!! Is it worse than MTT ? SNG's are my staple and they are not all that crazy when it comes to variance.

Thanks everyone.

there's lots of variance, more than sngs i'd imagine. be smart before you open your party account. good luck =)
