(maybe) interesting AK hand
This was from a Pokerstars 10+1 tourney last night, final 2 tables with 11 players left out of 1880. Most are playing very tight hoping to cruise into the final table, with shorter stacks making all in moves every now and then.
Is there any way I can get away from this hand with my stack size and the 2 all ins in front of me? Or is the potential payoff too sweet should I win? PokerStars No-Limit Hold'em Tourney, Big Blind is t30000 (5 handed) converter MP (t194042) Button (t476368) SB (t519334) frostbrn (t140267) UTG (t119163) Preflop: frostbrn is BB with K[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img], A[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img]. 1 fold, MP raises to t192542, 1 fold, SB calls t177542, frostbrn ???? |

Re: (maybe) interesting AK hand
Tip to the newbie: Don't post results. It will influence the responses you get, get you less responses, and is distracting. It's kinda like giving me the answer to a math problem before I try to do it.
I think I would fold here. You're probably behind and you've got a chance to bump up two payout levels. Though usually good players are all about maximizing chips and playing for first at the ITM stages of a tourney, I think in this case bumping up a very steep payout level outwieghs the pot odds. I guess it's probably a personal decision about the difference in payout between 11 and 10 vs you gambling to get a shot at first. As such, I don't think anyone would say a call is wrong here either. |
