Default A proper use of the donk bet?

I was impressed with UTG here - he had 8 [img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img]8 [img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img]

I would not have considered the donk bet play here but it looks spot on to me.

Should I have been impressed or have I missed the point?

SB checks, UTG checks, UTG+1 bets, SB calls, UTG calls.

UTG+1 has plenty of odds to call whether UTG bets or CR, so he lies doggo to see a nice turn card hopefully

SB checks, UTG bets, UTG+1 calls, SB calls.

UTG+1 is passive. UTG bets to avoid a free card and although UTG+1 still has odds to draw to 2 overcards he might make a FTOP mistake confused by the donk bet

probably still best; no raise on turn so bet

Sorry for the bump guys but I'd really appreciate some comments on this.

Am I the only one who found it interesting? Is it that obvious
