Re: Too much or just right?
I must admit the thought of checking the river never occurred to me on the turn.
I raised because:- a) I did not rule out the possibility of 88 or 99 with MP b) I wanted the player behind either to pay 2 bets to pursue his draw or gtf outta the way with a hand that might catch me! c)With possibly 14 outs, if the player behind called then the raise is close to value. However, I still thought a set was a distinct possibility in which case the raise would not be for value T |

Re: Too much or just right?
I know this, but I also know that my opponents make mistakes and dont play perfectly, most call too much, but some fold too much. When you get more experienced at this game you will realize that every situation is possible. Ironically, the kind of player who would incorrectly fold in this spot would be a no limit player that doesnt understand how limit holdem works.

[ QUOTE ]
well played, if you planned to check through on the river unimproved, which I assume is partly the reason the threebet the turn. [/ QUOTE ] I would take this line if I felt that my opponent would not 3 bet me on the turn unless he had top set. |
