Default Sold online poker playing

Hello,

I am interested in hearing from some of the consistent online poker winners, to hear what they have to say about bankroll management.

Over the past year I have been largely successful on online poker, up over $30G. However, it has been a rough ride, huge win streaks coupled with crushing loosing streaks, where I would blow my entire bankroll and several “in process” deposits then have to rebuy again and again. Playing an average limit of 10/20, when I’m winning I can’t help but cashout all the time, leaving no more than $1200 to play with and cashing out the difference whenever I reach say, $1600 or $1700.

Does anyone else do this?

I see a lot of solid players with very large bankrolls. I’ve heard the phrase “300BB” thrown around a lot. How many of you leave this in your poker accounts? Is this to imply that I should only cashout amounts over and above 6G if I’m playing 10/20? Do any of you keep a lesser bankroll and switch to lower limits when you’re loosing?

I look forward to any advice or input you winning players can offer. I am trying to “smooth out” my game, reduce “tilting”, win more and ideally never have to deposit again!

i'm pretty positive i'm a winning player. actually, analysis of my winrate, standard deviation, and hours played recently showed me that i am virtually guaranteed to be at least a 1 BB/hr winner.

i play the 10-20 6 max games on party and i have a working bankroll of about 15 grand at this point. but i rarely have more than $4000 in my party account at one time. i'm always cashing out, buying in , cashing out... don't ask me why, i just don't want to have 10 grand in an online poker account.

whenever my account online goes bust, although it's pretty rare, i just buy in for $1500 more or so. when i get up to $4000, i usually cash out $2500, leaving me with magic # $1500 again.. i use $1500 because i usually play on 3 tables and buy in for $500 on each. this seems to be working for me so far..

any other questions?

I don't do cashouts if I don't have 300BB for the limits I'm playing. In three years I've only had to do two major buyins, both within the last three weeks. It takes the sweat out of playing. I don't have concerns about keeping big money at the major poker sites.

56k..? That's just F***ING brutal! I'm afraid the ultra violence would creep into my every thought until the offender was gone.

Hello guywithnoname,

I've been playing only 25-50 online for quite some time now, and my 'system'--chosen randomly--is this: when I get to 13K, I cash out 6K, always leaving 7K left to work with. That has worked for many cashouts now. I don't know how many bb's that is, but hey, if it ain't broke, don't fix it.

Gl.
