Default please solve an equation for me

equation:

10 * [sqrt(n)/sqrt(k)] * [1+log(b+0.25)]

n = 29
b = 40
and
k=1 and k=2

i need it solved for both k=1 and 2 pls.

this is to verify a technical issue and i don't feel like struggling with this when it would take many of you 10 seconds

tyvm

WTF do i know???

does this help doggy?

The points formula used to determine the total points awarded to a player in a multi-table tournament (in the top 15% finishers) for any given tournament is:

Points = 10 * [sqrt(n)/sqrt(k)] * [1+log(b+0.25)]

Where:
n is the number of entrants
k is the place of finish (k=1 for the first-place finisher, and so on)
b is the buy-in amount in dollars (excluding administrative fee). For freerolls the buy-in is $0

Example 1: A player takes third place in a $20 tournament with a field of 150 players. Here:

n = 150, k=3, b=20

The total points awarded to this player are:

= 10 * [sqrt(n)/sqrt(k)] * [1+log(b+0.25)]
= 10 * [sqrt(150)/sqrt(3)] * [1+log(20+0.25)]
= 10 * sqrt(50) * (1+1.31)
= 10 * 7.071 * 2.31
= 163.09 (rounded up)

technically you posted an expression, not an equation - but since you were right it would take like 10 seconds... use our friend google to evaluate the expression:
google evaluates the expression for us

to get result for k = 1:
10 * ((29^.5) / 1) * (1 + log(40.25)) = 140.270936

k =2 gives you this:
10 * ((29^.5) / (2^.5)) * (1 + log(40.25)) = 99.1865299

HTH,

If it was the "natural log" it would have been Ln in the equation, "LOG" nomenclature is Log base 10
