Default Datamining? (nc)

Played .5/1 for about 20k and just moved to 1/2 at Party. I don't have data for the players at 1/2 yet, which would be nice. Is there a way to speed up the process of collecting data on these players? Is that what data-mining is and if so does anyone know how to? Thanks.

Get poker tracker and leave it running on 4 tables while you're not playing

If you play the party skins then just open up 8-12 tables with Pokertracker running and leave it running all the time.

Buy a mined database.

This is either against the T&C of PokerTracker or against the T&C of the Poker sites, I can't remember which.

Just FYI.

1. There are so many players, it would probably take you forever to get a significant PT database on all players.

2. 1/2 is soft -- 99% of your decisions will not be read-based.

While this might be true, having mined stats will go a long ways towards populating the OP's buddy list with piss poor 1/2 players, making the task of table selection all that much easier. I think that's easily worth the extra few seconds it'll take to open his database each time.

So I don't actually have to be sitting at the table for pt to be picking up stats right? Just open up the table?

Just open up the tables and have Poker Tracker running in the background with your AutoImport on.

Poker Tracker comes with a default setting telling it not to import hands that you observed (ones where you weren't seated at the table). If you haven't done so already, you need to turn that off before you can datamine. You can do this by clicking the "Observed Hands" tag on your Auto-import Party & Affiliates window, then unchecking the box marked "Do not import observed hand history files at this time".

Didn't know that. Is it the fact someone's making a profit off of the data or do they just not like people sharing databases?

While we're on the subject, do you all keep a seperate database for mined? I've just been importing it all into one database and I'm thinking keeping it seperate might be more efficient.
