Both these preflop limps make me sad. And why the inconsistency between the two hands?

I guess he follows the pre flop advice in SSH. Is a raise so much better here?

I would fold hand one and raise hand two. I don't know what it says in SSH but I think this has been discussed and debated to death and limping with these is bad news.

these hands were back to back and i planned on trying something different the second time. no rhyme or reason. im unsure how to play these situations. 2nd hand turned into a disaster.

Hand #1: Fold pre-flop.

Hand #2: SSHE says to just call pre-flop, so I guess calling here is fine.
