I would prefer c/call flop, c/r turn. Or if you c/r flop, make it for more money so it looks like a draw and you can induce a 3 bet from a big ace.

My first thought after the hand was to checkraise more on the flop.

Given that I didn't do that and took the checkcall/checkraise line, if I checkraised the turn and then was faced against a push, i'm faced with teh same decision as before, except is my choice easier or harder? and is it a fold or a call?

I think your decision is far more difficult after the jack appears. Is that what you're asking? If you c/r turn and he 3 bets, then I think it's a pretty clear fold. On the river, it is a more difficult decision. After the jack shows, I think I like a check call on the river a lot better than a lead - but I suck at value betting, so that may be a bit weak tight.

Can I turn the question round? Let's say villain has AK, does he call Hero's pot bet on river?

I can't imagine he's bluffing, I think only hand you hope to see here is A9 or A5 (putting you on A2 I guess). I think folding here would be okay.

His weak turn bet makes my head hurt. I don't know what to make of it. If he hit AJ or JJ surely he'd pot it (unless he was trying to get you to c/r again??).

What about betting less on the river? If we bet 1500, it will get a call from AK AQ hands that were probably going to check behind. If we then get raised then we can safly fold. This saves us about 1k and gets us the same result. We might even see a weak hand like KJ or Ax pay us off.
