Default AK UI value bets

Party Poker 5/10 Hold'em (6 max, 5 handed) FTR converter on zerodivide.cx

Preflop: Hero is Button with K[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img], A[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img].
<font color="#666666">2 folds</font>, <font color="#CC3333">Hero raises</font>, <font color="#CC3333">SB 3-bets</font>, <font color="#666666">1 fold</font>, <font color="#CC3333">Hero caps</font>, SB calls.

Flop: (9 SB) 6[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img], T[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img], 8[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] <font color="#0000FF">(2 players)</font>
SB checks, <font color="#CC3333">Hero bets</font>, SB calls.

Turn: (5.50 BB) 6[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] <font color="#0000FF">(2 players)</font>
SB checks, <font color="#CC3333">Hero bets</font>, SB calls.

River: (7.50 BB) YOUR CHOICE <font color="#0000FF">(2 players)</font>
SB checks, Hero eats himself

Final Pot: 7.50 BB

What cards can I be value betting AK UI with? Pretty obvious from his play so far he's either on a low(er) pocket pair or a high Ax, but I'm generally missing value bets here even though I know I should be making them.

Villain is a TAG, kind of stupid, and occasionally can't fold when it's obvious he's beaten. A bit too loose at 35/25, but generally standard postflop.

Hands like this he is definitely going to showdown, and that's pretty standard among a lot of players.

6 or lower, maybe a jack.

i don't see the good in betting a T/8 you think he'll call w/ just a K (and never c/r A high). i also dont feel tingly about a 7/9 because of pocket pair gutshots becoming straights or boats with those cards.

In this situation it will be a pretty easy bet on any card but an 8 or T if he checks to you on the end.

this was my thinking as well. Once the unimaginative LAG/TAG checks you have a value bet.

a K isn't calling here from a TAG. And once he called the turn, I can pretty safely assume he's not on Kx. I just continually check these through and it's starting to piss me off. Anyway, river Q and I drag it from AJ, pretty standard stuff but it's costing me money. I thought a Q wasn't a great card for betting at the time.

yeah you're right about the K stuff, i should have realized.

won't this guy have a hard time calling with a worse a-high on a river Q though? that's what makes me not want to bet.

Not in steal situations, no. A high is calling there a lot. That Q is prety bad for him too, but he's going to make a crying call there on a lot of river cards.
