Default this is SO cool

This is SO cool..

reading a website on a bit of how the Supreme Court makes decisions, and they had a picture of where all the big decisions were made -

It's on this page - first picture down

Is there anyone else here besides me that thinks some of the greatest decisions made in the course of our country are based on what looks like a 9 handed poker table?

I know at district and state courts, many decisions are made by judges' clerks--or at least heavily influenced. (My brother is a lawyer and knows some clerks from law school...)

Perhaps the supreme court justices actually make their own decisions.

it's just that idea in the back of my head where maybe once in a while the justices say "hell with precedent - one hand of 7 card stud and the winner gets to write the majority opinion however they want - LOL

My aunt, uncle, cousins, brother and I had an audience* w/ Clarence Thomas in his chambers circa 1992. Muwahaha that was cool.

*Is audience the proper term here? When I hear audience I think pope for some reason.

That would be cool, especially if a disgruntled clerk put a webcam in the room!

My Uncle's a big shot judge in WA state. We went to the east coast for a trip and somehow he had arranged to meet CT. I was a freshman in HS and while I remember being there and seeing him, I don't remember one word of what was said there.
Sorry, boring story.
