10/20 6max: confusing action - river fold? ATo
Villain is a 37/28/2.7 over 40 hands.
Party Poker 10/20 Hold'em (6 max, 5 handed) converter Preflop: Hero is BB with T[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img], A[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img]. 1 fold, MP raises, 2 folds, Hero calls. Flop: (4.50 SB) 2[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img], K[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img], 9[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] (2 players) Hero checks, MP bets, Hero calls. Turn: (3.25 BB) T[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] (2 players) Hero checks, MP checks. River: (3.25 BB) 7[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] (2 players) Hero bets, MP raises, Hero calls. Final Pot: 7.25 BB I called the flop as there's a good chance I'm ahead, and I've taken a more showdown-oriented approach lately to dealing with the LAGs. Should I check the river to induce a bluff? The check-through looked like a cheap-showdown move, I thought he'd call with A-high expecting me to bluff at the pot. The raise has me confused but I figured that there's greater than a 1 in 6 chance he'd do this with a 7 that he just hit, A7 etc, maybe even as a pure bluff. Surf |

I tend to call here expecting to loose most of the time. These type of lines are weak pairs, complete bluffs, or a 7 that just hit enough to justify a call though. I just caught a busted fd pulling this on me a few hours ago.

I felt this way at the time as well, but I haven't experienced this particular action very often and I am interested in others experiences. Thanks.

[ QUOTE ]
I would lead the turn. [/ QUOTE ] I like checking the turn. I've just picked up a showdownable hand, but I can't bet and call a raise because he'll be ahead too often - but he'll bluff-raise me with his picked up flush draw occassionally, but not often enough to warrant calling down. When I check I give him a chance to take another stab at it, and these players very often will do so, and give myself a chance to get to showdown with what is often the best hand. Surf |

With a better read on opponent...bluffing tendencies, WtoSD and so on I'd either take you line and check turn. Here I'd definately check river and call a bet.
Otherwise I'd lead turn, and call a raise to call a non overcard to T river. |

call, these people auto raise when they hit their pair on river. Probably he hit a set with 77, but i think you have to call. results?

3-bet preflop.
I think you give up a huge edge by not 3-betting. Plus you get into some very tough situations. I would call the river. Krishan |
