Re: 10/20 6max what kind of animal am i? (stats post)
I think the number that people typically get is around 0.185
For example: WtSD 0.35 (35%) Won$SD 0.52 (52%) CSF (Consolidated Showdown Factor) = 0.35 x 0.52 = 0.182 The figure creeps up a bit for each additional % Won (at 54% CSF=0.189, at 51% CSF=0.179). I do know of players who see 37-38% of SD consistently and they report a Won $ rate around 49-50%. For these figs CSF could be as high as 0.190 A CSF between 0.18-0.19 seems to be the norm. Of course this is only an artificial "factor" but it would be surprising if anyone deviated far from this (long-term). Of course there will be extremes, and the "forumula" may fall down in those circumstances. I may swing up/down dramatically at either end. For your results your have CSF=0.204 I would tentaively suggest anything over 0.190 is unusual for long-term results. People might wish to contribute their figures for results >50K hands on this thread, we could then get some kind of idea of its reliability as a measure of SD performance. |

naw, that's the other guy BDS. mine is .170 what does that indicate? my showdown numbers seem to be different than others, so it may be more indicative of my playing style (if you would call it that) than anything else. |

120k hands, variety of shorthanded limits-- they are all pretty similar:
WTSD: 36%, W$SD: 59% |

Re: 10/20 6max what kind of animal am i? (stats post)
Can you tell me what this indicates other than that you are a phenomenal player. Does this mean that you are just better at knowing when you are beat and when you are not? For instance, it seems that a player who is 36/55 must be getting in wrong a few more times than you in both cases. In other words, since you both make the same amount of calldowns, he must be both calling a few more losers and folding a few more winners than you. Is this correct?
I guess it could also be a function of the number of players on average that are in your pots at showdown time? Just curious. And impressed. Cartman |

Re: 10/20 6max what kind of animal am i? (stats post)
Could it be that you fold before the flop with some of the marginal hands that the 36/55 guy calls and therefore you are better armed when you get to the showdown? For instance, if a player saw every flop and then went to the showdown 36% of the time I would suspect that his "won $ at SD" would be extremely low. Right?

Re: 10/20 6max what kind of animal am i? (stats post)
might be-- my VPIP has always been on the low side of the HUSH people. i also only 1 or 2 table, and don't watch TV or whatever so i have pretty good beads on postflop tendencies of my opponents more than 'has AF of 1.6'. most likely explanation is running good, though-- the long term is very long.

Re: 10/20 6max what kind of animal am i? (stats post)
Yep. CSF is just a contrived figure and may only be relevant for comparison of personal results (i.e. running good etc.) or players who play similarly.
Good judgement will undoubtedly push it up, but also we do not know what the effect of V$IP is; it is likely as another poster says that a higher V$IP will result in a lower CSF, this makes sense. We can expect to see at least some movement along these lines. I guess we need to see V$IP along with CSF as well. I really only use CSF to judge my own results (if I can be bothered). When the original post was made some months back many posted similar CSF, I do not recall if V$IP was discussed. Can we also expect that W$atSD to improve when Flops/SD are typically HU? Higher limits may see the CSF moving up for this reason. |
