Default Turning Stone 2/19-2/21

I'm heading to Turning Stone in Verona NY next weekend, and have a few questions.

What nl holdem bb structure do they spread, and what’s the max buyin in each?

What limit holdem games do they spread?

Do they ever spread a PL Omaha Hi ring game?

How’s the waiting lists on the weekends?

How’s the floor management?

How are there weekend tournaments, how many entries, how long are they, whats the blind structure and starting chips?

Any recommendations on restaurants or anything else LMK

Thanks

1. They spread a 1-2 100max and 2-5 200 max. The 1-2 is a standard $3 drop and the 2-5 is $5 per half down. Usually 3-4 tables of the 1-2 running. The 200 does not always run, and would only be one table if it does, but it can be very, very juicy.

2. They spread 1-3 (don't bother), 3/6, 5/10, 10/20, 15/30 and 20/40.

3. No omaha.

4. Wait times explode at about 6-7pm. I HIGHLY suggest getting there around 5pm at the latest. The 1-2NL can be 2+ hours by 10pm. Often only 10 minutes at 5pm.

5. I've never had any problems with the floor, but the place could be run better. For example, the dealers have to share a cage with the players (ugh). I don't have much non-TStone experience to compare.

6. Weekend tournies usually get ~90 people. Blinds move pretty fast, but not sure what they are exactly.

7. The Emerald is a diner that delivers to the poker room. Just go to the desk and ask for a menu and the phone. There is also a nathan's hotdog stand, just trust me, they are delicious. There is also a deli with very good wraps/sandwiches. You have to buy a poker card ($2) every day, but this can be redeemed for a $5 food comp at the desk in the poker room.

nl structure: they will have 1/2NL 100max games 24/7. friday night will be a 5/10NL game with no max. there will probably be 2/5NL with 200max.

they have 1/3, 3/6, 5/10, 20/40 running every day. on a weekend 10/20 and 15/30 is likely.

omaha will not run

waiting lists will be very long. call 1 hour in advance of showing up and theyll put your name on the list for you.

floor management is ok.

friday they dont run tournaments. saturday the tournament is at 11am and will probably have 100-150 players and the buyin is $65 i believe. sunday is a $120 buyin with 60 players at noon. they start you with 2500 in chips with blinds incrementing every 15 minutes. levels are 25-25, 25-50, 100, 200, 300, 400, 600, 800, 1000.

i love ordering from the peach blossom. its some of the best chinese food/thai food ive ever had. fresh. they have a menu at the desk. the pina bianco is good for steak. you can order from the emerald 24hrs a day. id recommend the turkey club as its pretty much the only edible thing on their entire menu. if you want to splurge for a great dinner, there is a new brazilian steakhouse that just opened up. its a buffet and they serve the meat at your table. its $35. i havent been there yet but ive heard that the meat is absolutely tender and delicious.

look for me at the 20/40 game. my initials on the board are mbd. im the young kid with all the chips. dinner is on me.

If you eat food from Emerald, you WILL get the runs. There is absolutely no doubt about it.

I guess there's really a lack of cheap alternatives, but try the Stone St. Market. I'm not sure if they deliver to the poker room or not, but it's worth a break to get a sandwich to go from there.

Go figure, I like the Emerald food. It's cheap and filling. Of course, I'm a college student, so I'm used to greasy, fried food.

The Stone St. Market is the deli, right? That's the best place.

I haven't tried the Peach Blossom, but I definitely will next time I am there. Thanks for the suggestion MBD.

Also, I ate at a brazilian place like that once. It was fantastic.

forgot about the stone deli. that place has great sandwiches, but they dont deliver to the poker room so i rarely eat there anymore. i used to eat there on my way in, way out of the poker room when id park in the lot, but now that i park in the garage i never have a chance to walk by it anymore. theyre opening up a bunch of shops by the entrance to the garage. hopefully theyll have a little fast food place over there.
