My hand reading consists of, Strong, Weak, Draw.. I'm pretty good at putting people on one of those 3 characteristics.

I think going through all the possible hands somebody could be holding at a particular moment is the wrong road to go down..

[/ QUOTE ]

Ok, I see. For instance, in that AK hand where you flopped top pair top kicker in a big pot, you knew that all 5 of your opponents were on a draw, so you folded on the flop. Now I see why you are so good.

No, not one hand.

I put my opponents on one of three hands.

A) Better than mine
B) Worse than mine
C) A Draw.

and very, VERY good at it.

[/ QUOTE ]

Wow, that is amazing. So simple. I wish I would have thought of that sooner. I mean, why should I bother to calculate odds and outs - if my opponent has a better hand, I should fold, right? I guess I should have folded this hand, right:

K [img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img]Q [img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] vs opponent's 2 [img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img]2 [img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img]

Board: J [img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img]T [img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img]3 [img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img]3 [img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img]

He's got a pair, his hand is better than mine, right? wrong, I'm a 57-43 favorite

Or how about this one:

6 [img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img]5 [img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] vs opp A [img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img]K [img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img]

Board:
A [img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img]6 [img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img]4 [img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img]

He's got a bigger pair, so I should fold, right? wrong, I'm a 52-48 favorite

When does your book come out?

I think one of his opponents was put on stronger hand, and the rest on draw (maybe one on weaker hand?), but those reads combined gave him only 8 safe turn and river cards, so it's an easy fold.

No.. i said I'd be willing to throw away my hands based on my read..

If I read strength for two tight players who bet and raised in front of me, I could very well be behind to two pair! Combined with a couple draws calling, I have to catch a 4-outer to improve my hand (flush cards dirty) and dodge another 17 cards for a combined flush and straight.

I don't fold TPTK routinely in these games.. Every situation is completely different.. I merely stated that there are potential situations for me to throw it away in these games, and I got blasted, as calling TPTK is always +EV according to the genius players on 2+2.

Idiot..

I know more about pot odds and implied odds than you'll ever dream of knowing about. Thanks for bringing up an example that has nothing to do with what the original hand and fold is about.

I don't put people on a "Range" of hands.. I put people on A HAND!

You scored a 0.3 (on a 0-100 scale) on credibility before this statement. Now you're at an even zero.
