To me, the c/r is the villain telling me he would like to get all the money in on the flop, and that's fine with me. Lots of cards on the turn could kill our action, including 9 clubs and 2 aces, so let's just get it in right away, I say.

That is indeed the arguement for pushing the flop. A hand that...

- we have dominated
- will call the push anyway
- that 'might' not lead/call for us on the turn having not improved

Assuming the 'will call the push anyway', we have no need to consider risk in giving the "free" turn card - it's coming regardless.

What are we dominating?
- Air
- TP/overpair or worse, w/-w/o a club draw
- Gut shot w/,-w/o a club draw (too raggy a flop to give to much credit to an OESD'ing, limp/calling raise PF hand)

We are comparing two types of dominated hands then...
- hands that WILL fold to our push, but MIGHT lead/call the turn for us
vs.
- hands that WILL call our push, but will never lead/call the turn for us

Hands described by the former are MUCH more likely. Given that they are, you can reduce it to the following...

~ Giving a "free" 2/3-outer for the chance at an additional 400 chips (that we have no chance in obtaining otherwise)

I flat-called the flop and called the turn push. My opponent had JTc, for a flopped flush (and gutshot straight-flush draw). No help for me and I'm out 10th (oh, the indignity of it all... [img]/images/graemlins/smile.gif[/img].

As it turned out, I had only 5 outs on the turn, which made my turn call a FTOP error. I had wondered if I should have mucked on the turn, but I suppose that was hindsight talking.
