Default Multi-tabling at the Wynn - investigative reporting by TT

Apparently this guy is a regular at the Wynn. He was playing 4 20/40 tables at Empire (no PT, no PA, not reading tools at all) and a live 15/30 game. Because of his multi-sensory experience he was extra tight, except for when he was in the blinds he would only limp with medium pocket pairs, or A-middle suited, and raise with all pocket pairs TT & above (I never saw him showdown hands such as AK, AQ, KQ, etc so I cannot comment). When I sat down at the table he was on a heater, up 26 BB (he claimed), by the time I left he was complaining that he was down to a bit less than his buyin.

What motivates someone to do this? Mid-game he told a story to the dealer about losing 14K playing PLO earlier in the week, so he had to take a step down.
