Default Results of my first 25 days playing poker... net profit: $2,915

Well, I'll start with a little background on me I guess. I had very little poker experience before last month. A bit more than a year ago I played in home games every weekend with friends from high school... you know the game - about 10 idiots sitting around a table throwing quarters in the pot with no clue how to play poker. After that, I tried online poker for a few weeks and ended up busting out of Party, Pacific, and UB. Of course, I never bought in more than a couple hundred dollars max at any site. Basically, I sucked.

Anyway, about a month ago I discovered "bonus whoring" and decided to give it a try... I could fold every hand and still make a profit at Party/skins lol.

A few days after I started I bought Poker Tracker and have been tracking my stats and been using GT+ ever since. During my first two weeks bonus whoring I probably cleared close to $1000 of bonuses and made an additional $400 profit from playing $50NL while I cleared the bonuses, and $350 at a home game with my boss from work where I literally took everybody's money - 1 person managed to break even. Thats what they get for being drunk and/or high and/or tilting badly... the funny part was the two other sober people there lost the most money.

I was feeling pretty confident in my $50NL skills, then I hit a run of bad luck. I'm sure I was tilting a bit, but the luck I had was just mind-boggling. Although there were tons of bad beats, one I remembered was going all in on the flop (Qxx) w/KK. Some guy called me for god knows what reason w/Q8o. Turn is an 8, river is a rag. I ended up losing $700 over the next 4 days because of a combination of bad luck and probably a little tilt. Seriously though, the number of bad beats I took when I pushed all-in w/the best hand was just insane. So, I decided that I couldn't handle the swings of no-limit and switched to 1/2 limit.

I made $230 playing 1/2 over the next 3 days while I cleared $300 of bonuses. Since I was out of bonuses to clear on party/skins (I've decided to not play at any other sites from now on), and I heard that 2/4 was as fishy as 1/2, I decided to give 2/4 a try. I made $160 my first night. I also heard taht 3/6 is as fishy as 2/4, so I decided to give that a try the next night... I made about $1000 in 1500 hands... for some reason I wasn't satisfied though (WTF?) and kept playing. IMPORTANT LESSON: DONT PLAY POKER FOR 12 HOURS STRAIGHT WHILE DRUGGED UP. Needless to say, I managed to lose that $1000 with some god-awful play. The next day I played for about an hour and managed to win $150 at 3/6, put me at a net poker profit of 1850.

(BTW I've been 4-tabling all games since I started)

Today I played some more 3/6 and managed to win $1027 while I cleared $40 of the multipoker reload bonus. So much for that bonus lol.

Here are my poker tracker stats for today: (sorry the sample size is so small, but I don't think its useful to post my old NL stats, or the stats that involved 1500 hands while drugged up and tilting lol)

First off, welcome to the forums. Second, let me give you some advice. If you plan on multitabling 3/6 or 2/4, Small Stakes Hold'em by Sklansky/Mamuth is a MUST read. Its the bible round here. Also, get ready for the bitch known as variance. Your going to go through some crazy ups and downs, and its going to sting. Bad. Thirdly and finally, since your new to the forums, I will advise you to learn to use the search button. Forum posters don't like the same subject being brought up every day. Things such as bankroll, variance, table selection, etc, have been talked to death. Post hands that have a geniuly hard decisions, interesting content, and value to the forum. Include your reads on the player and the applicable PT stats on the villians. And finally, DON'T POST BAD BEAT HANDS. Suckouts, 1 outers, and runner runners happen to everyone and are of very little value.
