Default Ultra strange line that worked but...

Party Poker No-Limit Hold'em, $ BB (6 max, 6 handed) converter

CO ($55)
Button ($184.55)
SB ($73.95)
BB ($67.4)
UTG ($99.9)
Hero ($118.5)

Preflop: Hero is MP with 9[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img], A[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img]. CO posts a blind of $1. SB posts a blind of $0.5.
UTG calls $1, <font color="#CC3333">Hero raises to $4</font>, <font color="#666666">2 folds</font>, SB (poster) calls $3.50, BB calls $3, UTG calls $3.

Flop: ($17) J[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img], 9[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img], 5[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] <font color="#0000FF">(4 players)</font>
<font color="#CC3333">SB bets $12</font>, BB folds, UTG folds, Hero calls $12.

Turn: ($41) 9[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] <font color="#0000FF">(2 players)</font>
SB checks, Hero checks.

River: ($41) 4[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] <font color="#0000FF">(2 players)</font>
SB checks, <font color="#CC3333">Hero bets $60</font>, SB calls $57.95 (All-In).

Final Pot: $158.95

I cant believe this still worked. I obviously played this awful. What am I supposed to do at the turn? Bet how much?
SB was a bit too loose and liked calling, but dont have a specific read on him.

raise the flop, bet the turn ... building a pot will make it easier to get your stack in, rather than praying for a bad overcall

Yeah...That's amazing that he still called your river bet. Raise the flop, I don't see how the jack could have helped him. Checking the turn is too obvious and a pot sized bet would do best here. Then on the river another pot sized bet should have him all in.
