[/ QUOTE ] I was merely presenting a very possible, "logical" response after reading one of these articles by the people who push hardest for policy change in gaming: the Christian Right. I even feel strongly that this will be a bipartisan effort. Go to google news and type "youth poker addiction." This is what people read. I am very happy that you grind it out. I've said in one of these posts that it's the greatest life ever. People that play poker do not drive policy, they drive Pontiacs. On election day, they are playing poker, not voting. Who's applying this pressure, anyway? Some college kid who thinks he can win the WSOP or the billions of people who beat online poker?

[/ QUOTE ] This is possible, we will see them focus on this when the media focuses on this. When will this happen? Who knows, but whenever the media runs out of stories to scare people with, this will happen, not this summer since the summer is over, but next summer who knows, every summer the media needs something new to scare people and make them say "OMG I [insert activity media said was extremely dangerous]". Eventually this will probably be the cause of the poker bubble bursting the media will start pumping out stories about how every kid that plays poker gets hooked without any real stats or proof and dateline will have an interview with 1 or 2 kids that lost thousands of dollars and everyone will freak out.

They will present incredible comparative statisitics between now and five years ago. Biased they may be, but when you are talking about 3000% (example) increases teen gambling and such, the effect on the general public will be outrageous. There is no doubt in my mind that there will be 60 Minutes exclusives on 1.) teens that gamble and 2.) seniors that gamble compulsively.

A long time...I wonder where is this money going to come from, there is going to be a point when there will be more pros than money, thats pretty much the case at everything in life. I mean in the 80's everyone wanted to be a standup comedian so it sort of died off, right now its real state and poker, but everything has to end. I can see people online who are winners right now, but when push comes to shove, I am better than them and I will have to break them when there is less money available, I can see there are flaws in their games, its obvious, and im sure more than 1 is a pro. The question no one has asked is, where is this money going to come from? I mean does money magically appear out of nowhere? Someone has to be working for it no? [/ QUOTE ] No no no.
