Default Springfield, MA Area Resteraunt Help

Hey, I've gone out with a girl on a couple of dates to pretty nice resteraunts and I'd like to continue the trend. I've surprised her with my choices, but I know nothing about Springfield (where she lives) and I'm wondering if you guys could suggest anything in the area that is nice (she actually lives in West Springfield, if that makes a difference. I hear Springfield is pretty ghetto, so it might). I'd be willing to drive up to 30-40 minutes to get to a resteraunt. I live in Amherst and she's been coming here most of the time anyway, so you have a bit of a radius to work with I imagine.

Price range: $20-$40 Entrees sounds good.

Any help is appreciated.

I know there is a good Chinese place in Windsor Locks, CT which is kind of close, but Ive forgotten the name.

Or, just bring her to that Chinese place right on North Pleasant and get a Scorpion Bowl.

House of Terriyaki on N. Pleasant is an all around good choice, but isn't likely to blow anyone away. If you want the Asian persuasion you'd be better off hitting that Japaneese place on 116 in Sunderland. Best meal in the Amherst area though is Cuccina de Pinnochio's, (same place that deliver's calzones) it's a fine Italian restaurante and it realy cuts down on the college town riff-raff. As for Springfield, I hear it has a bowling alley and a strip club, and nothing else is worth seeing.

??

Also, I'm not a fan of Chinese food for a sit-down, date dinner. So, all those places are nice, but no dice. These are all Amherst recommendations anyway. Is Springfield really that much of a [censored] hole?

You might want to head up to Northampton (about 20 minutes north if I recall) which has several nice places from burgers to high end

Yeah, Northampton was my fallback plan, but we've gone to the nicest resteraunt in Northampton that I know of (Spoleto's). Any of you Amherst guys know if there's something nicer than Spoleto's? I might have to rock the East Side Grill, if anything. I did fairly well in a um...cribbage tournament and was looking to spend some cash.

east side grill is very good.

also good are osaka and teapot for that sushi/chinese/japanese angle.

bub's bbq is awesome. there's also a good bbq joint in northampton called lil's ribs or something like that.

Alright, last-ditch bump. Anybody want to serve up something better than the East Side Grill?

EDIT: Anybody know something about a Delaney House in Holyoke? Somebody just suggested it to me.
