Default Re: How\'s the 3/6 games in Biloxi???

You said they spread a 1-4-4-8 with 1/2 blinds? So if I raise pre-flop do I raise it to $4 total or to $6 total? Flop raises are $4? Or is it spread of anything from 1-4? River is $8 raise or anything from 1-8?

Yes you can choose how much you want to raise, which I prefer over set amount.(as long as it doubles previous bet)
So preflop you have the option or raising it to 4,5,or6 if it hasnt been raised yet.
after flop if no one has raised you can bet $1-4
if someone has already bet $3 you can raise it to 6 or 7
Last two rounds are same way... you can bet $1-8.

Its very useful when you flop a set and you dont want to scare everyone off. and on river when you think they missed their draw, they may call a "weak" $4 bet just to see what you have when they would fold against a $8 bet

Just got off the phone with the Ramada to find out if they have any shuttle services to the casinos...they do to the Grand Gulfport(they said they were about 5 miles away from there) but not the Grand Biloxi

Guess I'll hafta drive down myself

U say the Grand Gulfport is a smaller room? But still nice?

Gulfport is a little smaller, but everything is pretty much similiar except Stud there is 1-5 instead of 2/4.

Sorry I havent gotten back sooner...for some strange reason I cant get into the B&M forum from my home computer...

Again appreciated the advice from everyone...will give a trip report while Im there.

So in conclusion:
Sign up at the desk and get your chips there
A rack of Whites should be plenty.
Essentially a 4/8 spread game with 1/2 blinds
$1 tip for all pots won(except for the small pots)
Remember to get the meal comp once you leave and have a floor manager sign them(and tip the older lady)
Look For Doc Harvey and the gang

Anything else????

Thanks again

HHughes, when are you going, exactly?

A buddy of mine, Michael, and I are going tomorrow (6/24/05). Here's the plan:<ul type="square">[*]Michael sleeps plenty tonight. Like till 11AM. I teach my morning class from 9:20-10:30. (We're both Math PhD students at GATech. He doesn't teach on Fridays.)[*]I drive to Michael's house, and he drives us to Biloxi. I sleep in the car, whether I'm tired or not.[*]We arrive around 6 or 7PM, and do NOT get a hotel room. Instead, we play till check-in the next day. Probably the $4/$8 at the Grand.[*]Get a Saturday room and sleep till 6PM or whatever.[*]Play through Saturday night.[*]Sleep a few hours before check-out.[*]Play a bit and drive back to Atlanta.
We decided on this plan yesterday! (We're going to Vegas in August, and decided we couldn't wait that long.)

Michael plays 1/2 and 2/4 hold'em online. I play 2/4 and 5/10, so making-back the trip after 20 hours of play shouldn't be a problem, but grad-students enjoy shoe-string budgets.

If you're around, it'd be fun to hang-out. Send me a PM with cell or whatever, and we can share a comped buffet.

Forgot to mention the Grand has a new comp policy. You have to now give them your card when you start playing and play for 3-4 hours to get a comp.

Is there a limit per person? If we both play from 8PM to 10AM, can we get 8 buffet comps? (All you can eat... over and over. )

Does anybody know about Poker-Rate at any of the hotels?
