I think I would have played it the same way. It seems more likely to me that he has the 8 rather than the queen for some reason. And so you are talking about a kicker situation and it's doubtful he has one lower if he's calling your PFR. And I would have called a river push, not folded. JMO.

I'd raise the turn to 20, you have to charge draws if he picked one up, and you want to build up a pot against top pair. If he's got the case 8 with better kicker, I don't think i'm getting away from this.

As it stands, I'd fold to a river push as well. If he's got the case 8, he probably will not push into you (as your play throughout the hand is consistent with a Q). He's more likely to check or put out a blocking bet.

Folded to the button 10-handed, this happens very rarely. I usually make it $1, but you don't play the same opponents often enough at this level for it to matter.

I generally raise slightly less if its folded to me and i'm in a CO/button situation (but happen to have aces or some other nasty hand). Not sure if its a great idea, but I just hate to see my regular raise take nothing but the blinds. I feel as though the fact that I opened from late position means that i'm more likely to get lots of value out of an opponent with TP against my overpair (or some such situation), as i'm in position to be raising a wide range/c-betting with anything i have.

I think you split here often, especially since he potted the turn but is now betting 1/4 the pot on the river. It could *also* be interpreted as a "please call me" bet, since he could have something like KQ or JQ on the flop.

What is your motivation for calling the flop and river the way you did? It seems very loose-passive and I feel like you don't learn anything about what the BB has.

a turn raise is justified, alot of pocket pairs and high ace hands will pay off...call on river is good, all you can do in that spot

Were you calling the turn as a slowplay, or because you were worried that he had you beat? A slowplay is ok if you think it will help you get his stack if he has something marginal, but if it's because you're scared then I don't like it at all. You have a lot of outs to chop the pot unless he is already full, and you'll be ahead quite often anyway.
