You should be able to upload your avatars, instead of having to provide a link!

Care to take a guess how many terabytes that idea involves?
OOT alone would require their own server(s).

almost all broadband isps offer some free webspace, that is where you can stick an avatar is you don't wanna dump it on fileshack or whatever it's called.
