Default A charity poster that I saw

I've heard of a few topics where you guys look at ethical issues in a pretty rational manner... if you're interested, there's a post in OOT that I made on the subject of a charity poster that I'm having a tough time figuring out whether or not it's Good.

Please read the response by AdamL before responding to the OP. Please carefully read the description of the poster before responding to the OP. (You won't be able to contribute to the discussion if you don't have as much information as possible.)

I took a look at the OP. It appears that DavidC thinks that a minivan is a luxury item. He also think that people should be homeless before it is a situation that deserves help. If you wish to help, help. If you don't wish to help don't help. But to pretend that the minivan has anything at all to do with the situation is ridiculous.

I'm pretty sure that i said that in a non-homeless situation I'd be more inclined to help a friend than a stranger, not that I wouldn't help a stranger.

I'd also mentioned trading down the Minivan for something else. Unless this person is a courier by trade, this may be a reasonable thing to request.

[/ QUOTE ]It's a minivan not a 100,000 dollar car. I would also imagine that if they are like me, they are proabably in debt. Don't get me wrong I'm proably not gonna give any money to them either. But I'm not gonna pretend that the reason why is because they drive a reliable minivan and live in a house with a mortgage.
