Party $500k Key Hand - - Dumb or ?
Hi,
I finished quite nicely in the 500k last night and this hand was key in attaining a stack. After this hand I wasn't faced w/ any other difficult decisions. Villan has been playing really aggressively and has been in a lot of pots. He's been raising it up big when folded to him in the SB or Button. He's way too aggressive to check top pair. I'm either way ahead or way behind so I'm gonna take my chances. Thoughts? Am I a lucky donk? |

Re: Party $500k Key Hand - - Dumb or ?
i would have open-pushed prefop given that a) the bb is short but not pot-committed and b) the sb is clearly a player who is willing to F w/ you and possibly cause you to make a bad mistake (e.g., what if he had reraised all-in preflop instead of that retarded small raise?)
do you have any means by which to interpret this small preflop reraise? you said he had been open-raising big; did this apply to his reraises as well? if your read was only that he was very aggressive and splashing around, then i think you played it fine (after not open-pushing). if he had checked to you again on the turn i would've pushed right there. |
