Default Anyone knowledgeable about graphics....

I want to change the background file for tables at poker room. this is stored on my computer as "Game-Table.bmp". As far as i can tell it's just a standard 24 bit bitmap.

So, i've opened the file in a simple graphics program "painbuster". i modified the image to be a nice plain solid tan rectangle. I saved the file with the exact same file name. it was exactly the same pixel size and file size with 24 bit colors.

Now, when i run PokerRoom... the software runs it's normal "searching for updates" routine and decides to download a new copy of the bitmap.

This is standard on most poker sites. The site notices the file you have is different than their "latest version" so it updates it.

I know on Stars, you can use your own background by moving the file into the directory after logging into the software.

I'm assuming a CRC check?

On Crypto you can avoid the software from overwriting your changes by making the file read only. On Stars this causes it to crash on startup.

Default A workaround

it's easy enough to just put a copy of your favorite background file and a link to the PokerRoom folder on your desktop. after starting the program... just drag and drop.

you can also create a text file with contents:

copy <path-to-your-image> <path-to-pokerroom-image>

name the file something.bat, put a shortcut somewhere and doubleclick
