Re: Hand played by a NL \"forum expert\" that made no sense to me
If I'm playing aggressively, I'm definitely raising the flop or the turn. More likely the flop.

Really? Give MPs position I would have raised turn.

Re: Hand played by a NL \"forum expert\" that made no sense to me
Sorry for the harsh post. I was very pissed off for other reasons last night. Anyway, it's very plausible said 2+2'er had a good read on villain and was justified in playing that way. When you see only the hand history none of that shows. Poker is an extremely situational game and NL is probably the most situational of all.

Re: Hand played by a NL \"forum expert\" that made no sense to me
I like this logic a lot, I was thinking top two as soon as I read the hand (from the sb).. I might raise the turn (in case he's overplaying something like 9 8 with top pair and inside straight draw), but if I know he's aggressive (I assume MP1 knows what kind of player the sb is) then maybe I just call him down if nothing scary falls... It's not a bad play, because any raise causes top and bottom pair to fold (unless the player is pretty loose).

Really? Give MPs position I would have raised turn. [/ QUOTE ] I do it just because I'd raise the flop with a pretty wide range of hands. I don't call the flop and raise the turn too often in an unraised pot; I'd rather start building early and have a chance to stack the other guy. Likewise, if I'm going to bluff, I'd do it on the flop more often than the turn. |

because any raise causes top and bottom pair to fold (unless the player is pretty loose). [/ QUOTE ] I haven't really played the Party games since they started, so perhaps they play more differently than I realize. However, in similar sized games on UB, I will often get paid off by top and bottom, and in juiced up games I will get paid off by a slow-played overpair. Of course, you also face all sorts of all-in bluff moves on scary boards at UB. |

I can't believe all these responses. Unless I have opponent-specific knowledge, online I am raising this flop just about every time. The times I don't, I am raising the turn. [/ QUOTE ] i think there should be a raise in there on one of the 3 streets |
