Default wires to AC casinos

Hi,

Apparently the Taj and Borgata don't pick up your bank wire
fees. Casinos in Vegas (Bellagio, Mirage and Wynn) will
round up your transfer to account for the transfer fee
(say your bank charges you $30 for the wire, then if you
wire $970 the casino will round up to $1000 to compensate).
That sucks. Can you get some sort of comp instead ?

This issue has two potential outcomes:

1) You're playing low enough limit that you should just carry the cash with you.
2) You're playing higher limit and you shouldn't really worry about a $50 transaction fee when sitting down to play.

If it's only $1000, just carry it in $100 bills. If you want to wire like $10,000, just eat the fee. Are you doing this just for the WPT or do you plan on being a regular player at one of these places? Do you give pit action or just poker? You probably could send them a certified check free of charge if you allow it enough time to clear, but I'm not sure.

I play higher limits so I do not want to carry that much cash with me.

My plan is to make more frequent weekend trips to AC, so the fess can add up week after week. In the end I might just have to get a deposit box there (do they have any ? usually
they are oversubscribed). I'd rather not though. Overall I am surprised that they are not more accomodating to poker players (compared to Vegas).

Maybe the cashier's check might be an option.

Thanks for your responses.

If you do make frequent trips to whatever casino it might be worthwhile to open an account at a local bank. I'm sure you'd be able to work out some agreement where you would have ATM access to your funds 24-7 assuming you kept enough money in the account. Just keep your B&M bankroll in this bank account, withdraw whatever winnings you don't want to keep and there you have it.

Won't really work as ATM's cap at $1k (e.g. Chase) other's
only let you withdraw about $500 (Citibank, WAMU) ...
Thanks for the suggestion though.

I know this is normally the case, but banks do make exceptions sometimes. If you were willing to keep a minimum balance of X maybe they'd be willing to bend their rules.

The flip-side of #2 is that if you're playing such high limits, the casino may make an exception for you. My advice is to call the casino, ask for the host (NOT THE POKER ROOM) and pretend you want to play blackjack.

The main cage told me to talk to a hosts as well. Unfortunately my player's card only shows poker play. That made them a lot less forthcoming.

Does anyone know when the comps start coming at the Taj/Borgata ? At TI I scored a free room with a couple of hours of black chip black jack. They really must have
pegged me as a loser - I only played to accompany a friend.
Now, I don't like floor games, but maybe I could try to play some in order to get some history on my card. Does anyone know if I can get any offers with lower limit play ? Say green chip - or even just red chip play ?

Thanks.
