so... in the non-spade, non-three scenario, you end up calling the turn and let BB in cheap? Raising turn doesn't look right.

This line just calls down the river. Ick..

Hate that.

I think I toss it on the turn in any event. Weak, huh?

i misunderstood your question...i thought you meant the most likely villain would check to Hero who would bet...but in the case of a stop/go i would probably fold...

Default RESULTS = UGLY

I'm pretty sure I made the right play by folding when I did. (I'm not going to be results oriented. After all, in the long run I'm usually out-kiced here or beat by a flush, right?)

But here's why I questioned the hand:

Party Poker 3/6 Hold'em (10 handed) converter

Preflop: Hero is CO with A[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img], 3[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img]. MP1 posts a blind of $3.
1 fold, UTG+1 calls, 1 fold, MP1 (poster) checks, 2 folds, Hero calls, 1 fold, SB completes, BB checks.

Flop: (5 SB) 7[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img], J[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img], A[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] (5 players)
SB checks, BB checks, UTG+1 bets, MP1 folds, Hero raises, SB folds, BB calls, UTG+1 calls.

Turn: (5.50 BB) 4[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] (3 players)
BB checks, UTG+1 bets, Hero folds, BB raises, UTG+1 calls.

River: (9.50 BB) Q[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] (2 players)
BB checks, UTG+1 checks.

Final Pot: 9.50 BB

Results in white below:
BB has 2d Ac (one pair, aces).
UTG+1 has 9c 8s (high card, ace).
Outcome: BB wins 9.50 BB.
