Re: i\'ve often thought, \"How good are Party SNG players---
Your variance is going to be higher at Party.
The simple fact is you have to get good cards there, and your cards have to hold up. If you get good cards, you'll do well there, if you don't, you won't. |

One other thing - Stars has $6 +.50, & $15+1 tournies, which are cheaper than anything Party offers (or anyone else, as far as I know).

However, if you have some experience, then I think Party is clearly the place to make more money. If playing Party, I would start at the $10+1 level. The play in these things is absolutely atrocious, and a good patient player who knows how to change speeds near the bubble can absolutely crush these games. [/ QUOTE ] nawwwwwwwwwww |

Re: best site for sng\'s
wow, I am not sure if this makes me want to play at party or not? while I am new to real money games on the net, I can still see that all of these folks are ... well not smart. but, you gotta feel for the guy with qq. Was he the one that went all in first and the rest called?

Re: best site for sng\'s
man i wish my one and only (great sample size i know) 10+1 at party had those players. after the first round of blinds, it seemed like almost EVERY hand went HU or blind stealing. it was a huge difference than the 5+1. strange.

Re: i\'ve often thought, \"How good are Party SNG players---
I think what happens is you start to develop skills that are tailored to that specific format. Like I play the PS Turbos differently than the regular ones, and in fact I make more at Turbos because other people either do not adjust or over-adjust. So that might be the skill deficiency you see - people can't deal with Party's tight structure.

Re: best site for sng\'s
I frankly like the fundamental thought behind Desdia's remarks.
What is your purpose in selecting a site? If your interest is to have a good time, get some money on the table, do a little gambling, and possibly start out winning some there are innumerable posts on this site regarding which site has $5.50 or $11 games that are running soft recently. Party and Ultimate probably lead the pack right now from what I have read. (But not party's 5+1, too expensive.) If your purpose is to get serious about learning poker, the better players are on Poker Stars, because the stack/blind structure favors the skilled players. And the higher buyin you can afford to play, the better players you will come up against. As a learning tool, playing in these games is far superior to the short stack, quick blind increment, increased luck factor, and somewhat more crazy players at other sites. This is not, however, a formula for making a quick buck. Doc |

Play at a site that offers $5+.50 not $5+1 [/ QUOTE ] For what it's worth, Poker Stars has $5+.50 The Gaming Club (Prima) has $5+.50 True Poker has $5+$1 That's the 3 places I currently have accounts. |
