Re: feet hit the pylon?
[ QUOTE ]
At the moment Johnson's foot hit the pylon (out of bounds), the ball should have been marked where it was at ... which to me was about six inches short of the goal line. [/ QUOTE ] The pylon is considered in bounds. So the call on LJ was correct. To the OP: The ball never crossed the goalline (or the goalline extended). Thus, no TD. |

[/ QUOTE ] You're right (I don't understand it, but it's right there in the rules ... pylon considered inbounds) ... however, if any other part of Johnson's foot touched out of bounds, the ball still should have been spotted about six inches before the goal line. Maybe no other part of his foot did touch. I can't say for sure. Apologies for the misinterpretation. |

Re: feet hit the pylon?
[ QUOTE ]
it didnt cross on the johnson td either, right? [/ QUOTE ] Yes it did. It was a very odd play, but his foot stepped right on the pylon, which is considered in bounds. The ball then crossed the goaline extended (out of bounds), which is still a TD according to the Vick-interpretation that somebody mentioned earlier. |
