My KK hand
UTG is 30/19/620. He is a tight player but is poor at defending blinds which is why I hound him.
Party Poker 1/2 Hold'em (6 max, 6 handed) converter Preflop: Hero is BB with K[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img], K[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img]. UTG raises, 2 folds, Button calls, 1 fold, Hero 3-bets, UTG calls, Button calls. Flop: (9.50 SB) 9[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img], A[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img], 2[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] (3 players) Hero bets, UTG raises, Button folds, Hero calls. Turn: (6.75 BB) J[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] (2 players) Hero checks, UTG bets, Hero folds. I really wanted to call down here but my gut feeling was screaming ace. Only problem is, was the pot too big for me to fold it at this point? I figured if I called down from here I'd need to win this approx 20% of the time to break even. |

Re: My KK hand
Your play is fine, the pot isn't big enough yet that you should worry about that yet. Maybe he's overplaying a flush draw, but I doubt it.
I could see calling down if you had some hands on him where he played an underpair like QQ or JJ like this. |

Re: My KK hand
i think i lead the turn and fold to a raise...is that a terrible play here? by checking you're saying 'bet me, please, i'm scared'. I say bet the turn. thoughts? he COULD have a flush draw, QQ, etc. and i think we'll find out by betting- a raise puts him on an A. From UTG there isn't much he should raise with that we're ahead of (AA, AK, AQ, QQ(yes, we beat something!), JJ, etc).

That fool is agressive. [/ QUOTE ] LOL Anyways, I like to call down in situations like this. He could be semibluffing with a spade draw or playing a mid/high pocket pair aggressively. |

Re: My KK hand
3-bet the flop, if you're capped, let it go if your gut is screaming so loud you can't hear your mind.
Question, when did your gut begin screaming? On the flop or the turn? |

Re: My KK hand
Since you're out of position, I think 3-betting the flop is the go, dropping it if he caps.
He'll bet this turn everytime if you play this way. |

Re: My KK hand
I don't think you can drop it if he caps. People will cap for a free card once their raise for a free card didn't work.

[/ QUOTE ] Anyone who caps for a free card gets a special note from me in their party profile. I've seen it once in 6max. I don't think this is a play pulled often enough to worry about it. |
