Default Too weak to give up on this? PP 15/30

Big Blind is a 17/9 TAG

Party Poker 15/30 Hold'em (10 handed) converter

Preflop: Hero is UTG+1 with Q[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img], A[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img].
<font color="#666666">1 fold</font>, <font color="#CC3333">Hero raises</font>, <font color="#666666">4 folds</font>, CO calls, <font color="#666666">2 folds</font>, BB calls.

Flop: (6.66 SB) 7[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img], Q[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img], 9[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] <font color="#0000FF">(3 players)</font>
BB checks, <font color="#CC3333">Hero bets</font>, <font color="#CC3333">CO raises</font>, <font color="#CC3333">BB 3-bets</font>, <font color="#CC3333">Hero caps</font>, CO calls, BB calls.

Turn: (9.33 BB) 2[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] <font color="#0000FF">(3 players)</font>
<font color="#CC3333">BB bets</font>, <font color="#CC3333">Hero raises</font>, CO folds, <font color="#CC3333">BB 3-bets</font>, Hero folds.

Final Pot: 14.33 BB

I figured I was looking at a set of 7s or 9s for sure. I thought it highly unlikely that he would jam JT so hard. Maybe even a smoothflopcalled AA.

Very tough hand. No ideas whatsoever. Yet he could still be drawing...

here's what i was thinking, re: range of hands.

Probable: 77, 99

Possible: AA, KK, 79, AQ, Q9, Q7

Unlikely: AQ, T8, JT

I mis-typed in my prev post, that should have been JT not J8 (now edited to be correct).

I thought that, but then the flop raise has no real value...why not just CC it...def possible though.

When the BB 3-bets the flop, you're probably behind, so the cap doesn't serve much of a purpose, other than to give him confidence he can go for a check-raise on the turn.

I would like raising the turn more if you didn't cap the flop and watch him lead into you yet again. He's always got a set here unless he happens to have exactly JT diamonds, and even then he might not lead into you for fear of losing the CO.

It's nice to protect your hand, but when you're probably behind, what's the point? You need to see a cheap showdown. The fold was good though, you're definitely dead or drawing at most to 3 outs.

I don't think there is much a chance you are not dead here. The fact that he led in to you after you capped the flop to me means he ahs the set. I don't think even JT diamonds plays it this way - perhaps JT would check rasie it but bet then three bet doesn't seem correct unless he is a loon - which you say he was not.

I would be totally comfortable with this fold it I were you.
