Checking the flop gives me a much better chance at winning this pot.

and betting the flop gives you a bigger pot to win when you do.

Your stated goal was to limit the field on the turn? Well why use this play when you're on the button? This is the worst spot to do it from considering the liklihood a turn bet could come from an early position bettor. Now you have no one to cut out but you gave out a free card anyway. I'd only be inclined to make this play from early/middle position.

Otherwise, the flop is so completely uncoordinated, I doubt you're making money by potentially cutting guys out on the turn. I'd just bet all the way, especially since I'm on the button.

KJ isn't folding the flop if I bet for one bet.

Well, there's no always and never in poker. I think a lot of folks would fold KJ on the flop in this situation. All you've got is overcards that probably aren't good if you hit them.

Could you give me a link. I must've missed the thread.

I haven't been able to find it yet. On further recall, I think it was a little different: the idea was to limp preflop on the button with a big pair like KK, then raising on the flop. Sort of similar to your strategy, but different.
