Default AK hand...should I have just pushed at river?

MP1 is the reason I'm at this table, raising with Ax, suited cards, etc. 74/24/1.57

Comments on all streets appreciated, especially the turn check behind. And how about the river bet, should I have just pushed, only had 5.9 more?

Preflop: Hero is Button with A[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img], K[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img]. SB posts a blind of $0.1.

MP1 bets $3, Hero raises to $9, MP1 calls $6.

Turn: ($24.60) J[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] (2 players)
MP1 checks, Hero checks.

River: ($24.60) 9[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] (2 players)
MP1 checks, Hero bets $5, MP1 calls $5.

Push the turn. I almost always play AK fast on these tables against typical players when I hit the flop.

I say bet on the turn, and bet more than $5 on the river, at least half the pot.

Yeah, looking back and thinking about it more, I definitely should have bet the turn, and certainly should have been all in on the river. I get gun shy at times. The turn, I was thinking that maybe they had AJ, so I checked behind. The river, who the heck knows what I was thinking by not getting everything in there after they checked to me twice in a row...
