Default Why is Poker so stupid?

In the past 13,000 hands I have won a whopping $48 with AA. That's about as much as I have won with 64 off suit. What have I done to offend the poker gods? Perhaps an animal sacrifice will appease them. Here endeth the bitchfest.

Oh yeah, I play $3-6 full games if anybody cares.

Well..

a) You play like a man and never miss a raise,
b) Your software is defective and every button says raise,
c) You are AT&T's most favored customer,
d) Aces aren't your style.. stick to 64, or
e) There is a remote chance you are running bad.

Only you can answer this question. I'd also be interested to know why. AA is a great pair, but when it is all said and done, a pair nonetheless. Go back and review all of your AA hands. Were you hanging on to them when the board had four of a suit and one of your aces wasn't one of them?

It completely depends on how you played them. Did you let the whole table in on the action by slowplaying them? You need to stop blaming poker itself and take a long hard look at your play with them.

My 2 cents.

Could be worse, I was dealt AA twice in 10 minutes this morning and came out -$150 for the experience. Pocket rockets are a harsh mistress.

Hey, onaflag. Thanks for the advice, but I was just venting. I'm confident I play AA well and I know that I am just running bad. Although a sacrifice couldn't hurt. Anybody have any spae goats or lambs?

I have learned many things about my game using PokerTracker including the fact that "weird sh*t sometimes just happens". As an example, I have >20k hands at 3/6 and 5/10 HE where I have LOST money with AKs. I'd have to look up the exact number of times I've been dealt it on PT but it is not out of line with the expected number. When going over my stats, that one just jumps out at me and screams, "WTF?". I think PT shows I raise or reraise preflop with AKs about 95% of the time (the other 5% are probably when it is already capped when it gets to me).

AA, KK, QQ are all big money makers so I think I'll continue to play them but AKs - bah!, into the muck preflop from now on. Stats don't lie, do they?

Seriously, I think I'll just keep playing them strong and wait for the return to the mean.
