Raise pre-flop.
Raise the flop.
If you're not going to raise the flop, raise the turn.
And finally, cap the river unless you have a read that this guy is King of the Passive Fish.

Thanks.

He was actually a rock (in my DB with a few hundred hands), so I thought he might be playing AJ.

He ended up showing the KJ hearts :-(

Look, preflop you have a very fine hand, it's ok to limp but better to raise here. On the flop and turn you just keep firing. So far so good, then on the river he bets into you. Why? A bluff or the T helped him. When he 3-bets you call and that's fine but you don't 4-bet here unless you know this guy's a moron. You played this hand ok, just took a loss, that's all. /v

Thanks for the feedback.

I didn't consider capping the river as I suspected I was somehow beat. But folding would never be correct at that point ...

Folding is never correct - but when your read tells you that he's a rock, you should probably just call his river bet. Rocks don't make plays.
