I think shorthanded games play a little differently than blind steals/defenses in full games. Its a different mindset.

[/ QUOTE ]
How is this a different mindset?

I agree that the 3/6 blind structure isn't the best.

TAG in the blinds or not, I dont think raising A5o is a winning play there, I'm surpirsed how many of you think otherwise.

In virtually all the 3/6 games I play in, raising from this position is frequently not respected. Too many people cold call. Recognizing this weakness and knowing that many of the players will stay for the flop, I limp with most of these except for the suited. At higher stakes where players will not cold call as often, I'll be more aggressive. In the 3/6, once people have seen me playing tight and winning, only then will I try to steal the blinds. The players must respect me when I bet for this to work.

My $.02 ... Adam

I agree 100%, voted fold for A5o, raise for all others.

these are all easy raises (A5s and A5 are hardly different heads-up)

Fold A5o, raise others. Also, A5o =~ A3s and A7o =~ A5s.

I think A7o is quite a bit better than A5s in this situation.

These are high-card-chicken types of hands in SH pots. Higher cards are more valuable than suitedness. That five is pretty pathetic when you make a pair with it.

Especially if everyone behind you is tight, and it will often be HU on the flop.

I would steal with all those hands if both players in the blinds are VPIP 14's
