The villian has been pretty tight, but I suspected him to be stealing in this situation. Was I being too weak by laying down AKs?

You have him covered.... what buyin is this? I don't think I can fold here. You're going to need to accumulate chips at some point.

How many hands till blinds change? i suspect this is the key piece of info.

Id call and expect to see myself dominating him. If he has a pair, all credit to him. Flipparoo non-the-less.

Phill
edit: if he has more than you, he wouldnt push here, your at worst 4-5ish underdog to JJ

It was 4 hands till next blind. I figured that I might be in a race, but with 6 players still and having a healthy stack, I wasn't sure if i should get into coinflip situation. I guess im just a puss.

It could be a coinflip, but there is also a good chance that you are dominating him. I'd overpush here. If you win this hand you will be in good shape to start pushing people around a little bit and accumulating chips for bubble play.

imo, yes. there is a 225 chip overlay here and you are either flipping or have him dominated. i dont see a player with AA or kk making this push in the 20s (they would make a standard or min raise to induce action). id most expect the guy to turn over 77-tt, at+, or possibly even kq.
