As far as I can tell they are bunch of dumbass wannabe poker players.

They were playing in a tournament at TGC at the weekend (beat the mob $20+2) with $200 bounties on their heads.

I had one of them sat at my table (Ross Boatman I think) and he pushed in PF with KJo for no reason. Just a plain stupid play. Got called by AA and died. Lots of screams of "collusion" after that, but I don't think it was. He was just crap.

Sure he doesn't want to win the thing - but he isn't going to get much of a reputation playing THAT badly.

That's funny- I was playing 2/4 NL with him at one point on BugsysClub and I doubled through him twice.

I think they're staked and feeding the game as a giveaway kind of thing, so people can say "Ohh I played with some big names".

Like I just did.

"Barny Boatman is considered to be one of the most talented exponents of No Limit Hold 'em, which he calls 'The Beautiful Game'. He has figured in countless major finals including the only ever Poker Million. He burst onto the international poker scene in 1999 when he became Europe's top ranked Seven Card Stud player. He also topped the EPPA Omaha rankings in 2000/2001, and won the European championship Seven Card Stud event in 2002. In both 2000 and 2001 he was Britain’s top finisher in the World Series, and in 2002 he set a new record by making three World Series finals in a row, an achievement that earned him an award for the outstanding tournament performance of the year.

"Ross Boatman is Irish Open Omaha champion, Austrian Open Omaha champion and the current British poker champion. Despite juggling his two careers he was the top money winner on the European tournament circuit in 2002."

Default PokerVoice.

Just noticed on thehendonmob site that www.pokervoice.com has started its wsop coverage:

"Starting today with the final day of the $5000 Limit Hold’em and day 1 of the $3000 No Limit Hold’em, we will be giving you update coverage and news. As well as these events we will also be covering the $5000 Pot Limit Omaha plus rebuys event and the WSOP $10000 main championship event.

"If there’s anything you want to know, someone you’d like tracked down or a question you’d like to hear answered, let us know. Post on the hendon mob forum and we’ll do our best to give you what you want."

2002... What about results in 2003?

And they are hardly going to put "Well, we're pretty crap really." on their own website. What's your objective opinion of the Mob Mike?

I'm pretty sure Tony Bloom made a WSOP event Final Table this year.

Full corporate sponsorship for pro poker players. That's what the story is. They are the first and many hope it will be the wave of the future.
