I would say check and call might be better on the river. The only better hands that might fold would probably be TT or JJ, and that's kind of iffy. Worse hands that might call a value bet... 88 or 66 maybe? Seems like by checking you could occasionally save a bet when behind, maybe induce a bluff on the spade.

I think check/call the river is in order. Against a decent player, what preflop raising hand are you ahead of now that will call? / are you behind that will fold?

Some players might bluff at it with AK if you check to them. But some players may occasionally call on the end with AK too.
I suspect if you had good river aggression data on your villan, there is some threshold where based on how aggressive (and how weak-tight?) he is, the right play throttles from check/call to bet or vice versa. |
