Getting bested by Big Slit

I am having trouble with AQ suited or not. I need suggestions. These are small pots with few players should I not bet flop/turn when I don't hit. Am I hanging around too long? I realize that these hands aren't as tricky when you catch a piece but I don't know what to do when I don't.

Here are examples:
1)Party Poker 0.50/1 Hold'em (7 handed)

Preflop: Hero is SB with A[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img], Q[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img].
UTG folds, MP1 folds, MP2 calls, CO folds, Button calls, Hero raises, BB calls, MP2 folds, Button calls.

Flop: (7 SB) 6[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img], 9[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img], 6[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] (3 players)
Hero bets, BB calls, Button folds.

Hero bets, BB raises, Hero calls.
