Default 2 hands, good call? good bet?

First hand, the river call seemed fine to me considering the betting patterns on previous streets.

PokerStars Pot-Limit Omaha High, $1.00 BB (8 handed) internettexasholdem.com

saw flop|saw showdown

UTG+1 ($43.75)
MP1 ($99)
MP2 ($49.75)
CO ($116.35)
Button ($99.80)
Hero ($98)
BB ($119.40)
UTG ($79.05)

Preflop: Hero is SB with 8[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img], A[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img], A[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img], 2[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img].
UTG calls $1, 2 folds, MP2 calls $1, CO calls $1, Button raises to $4, Hero calls $3.50, 1 fold, UTG calls $3, MP2 calls $3, CO calls $3.

Flop: ($21) 5[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img], 3[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img], A[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] (5 players)
Hero checks, UTG checks, MP2 checks, CO bets $10, Button folds, Hero calls $10, UTG folds, MP2 calls $10.

Turn: ($51) 8[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] (3 players)
Hero checks, MP2 checks, CO checks.

River: ($51) T[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] (3 players)
Hero checks, MP2 bets $16, CO folds, Hero calls $16.

Final Pot: $83
Main Pot: $83, between MP2 and Hero.

Second hand, the plan was a strong bet on the flop and fold to any reraise. If my flop bet got called 2+ players I was done with the hand. If I got called in one spot then I'd think about the turn when I got there.
Looking back my flop bet was probably pretty terrible considering the size of the field going to the flop.
Villains are collectively pretty decent so they would definitely give me credit for a preflop raising hand like 789T.

Hand #1: You should either fold on the flop since you don't have odds to call and fill or raise if you think he is bluffing and fold to a reraise. And even if you fill you probably won't get paid.

Hand #2: Like you said, with large fields betting AA on a middle straight board when your sidecards have none of it is usually suicide. You got lucky.

It's not suicide if that bet represents the last dollars you are going to put in the pot. The pot is interesting enough to take a stab at it, ppl don't flop straights that often and betting at it is the only way to win the pot.

Hand 1)
Tough spot on the flop. His half pot bet is giving you 3-1 on your call, which is pricing you in to draw for the boat. The problem is that you have 2 people left to act behind you and you can't really stand a raise. Basically it comes down to poker here. If the players left to act behind are only going to call with the nuts and the bettor is loose, raising it up here becomes an attractive option. If the bettor is tight or the players behind will call down with non-nut flushes, throw this hand in the muck. The post-flop action looks a little wierd, but if MP2 shows you anything but a flush here, he is a complete idiot.

Hand 2)
I'm actually with Marnix on this one. An EP pot-bet on a coordinated board indicates a lot of strength. This is only a good play if 3 things are true: 1) you will go limp to any resistance 2) you raise pre-flop from EP with a lot of hands and 3) none of your opponents are calling stations.
