I'm in for $100. We should probably meet the night before or an hour or so before the tournament to chat a bit, introduce ourselves and offer encouragement.

Does anyone know if we should pre-register for this and other events or if it will be no trouble to register at the Rio?

Last year there were about 850 players for this tournament. The cap is 2000, and FWIW I don't think it will fill to capacity. However, I sent in my preregistration (from the Harrah's WSOP website) and a cashiers check to cover the entry, just in case. I'd like to meet everybody, but don't fly into town until Friday, a couple hours before the tourny.

Also remember, guys, that the final table for each of these tournaments is the next day at 2PM, do be careful if you send in too many entries, you might not be able to play - (well, we can hope). Also, there are sats for these everyday, and you might want to wait and play in those.

I pre-reg'd out of an abundance of caution. I could meet for an hour and a drink Thursday evening (don't want to take too long as I'll have two friends with me). Or maybe 11:00ish on the Friday - or will there be a scramble for late registration and table assignments?

Any interest in doing this for the 2000 NL the following week? I'm riding my motorcycle to Vegas (from KC) and I'm not sure whether I'll get there for the 1500 or not. Might have to stop and see the worlds largest ball of twine or something .

I'm in for the 2k, but it should have it have its own thread to attract interest.

I predict if anybody from 2+2 recognizes you on the rail, you won't be hanging around there much longer.
