Default Konerko re-signs with Sox for $60 Mil

Sox match Angels offer and re-sign Konerko

This is going to be a hell of a lineup with Thome backing up Paulie provided Thome stays healthy.

Konerko is still at his peak .. had one of his best seasons in his career last year. Although he may look like he is 40, he's actually only 29.

I can't really comment on the Thome deal. I would rather we not have made the move, but I don't think it's too bad. It's not like we're paying that much of his salary. Time will tell i guess.

I like the Thome deal myself. Whoever replaces Rowand will probably be of at least equal effectiveness (at least offensively but I doubt his replacement will a defensive slug) and a healthy Thome should greatly eclipse Carl Everett.
