What is (no DP)?
I see all these tables now at Party/Empire with "(no DP)" in the title and for the life of me I can't think of what that could mean. It's probably something extremly obvious but could someone please fill me in nonetheless?

Re: What is (no DP)?
it even has a pop up when you enter the table..
anyway its disconnection protection., when you disconnect, i think it just holds your hand and plays out the rest of it instead of you folding, so you can win whatever is in the pot when you disconnected |

Re: What is (no DP)?
too bad that something that was supposed to help you when you get disconnected is being abused by BAD players.
What happens is a player bets and has a lot of money in the pot, when another player raises. The first player into the pot doesn't want to put any more money into the pot. So he/she sits there until the software times out. So he is eligible for the main pot but not the extra pot. He loses his original bet before the raise on that round of betting, but can get the main pot if he has the best cards. Interpoker was rampant with this activity. Every one complained and they took the protection away since it was clearly used for cheating, not protection. I will never play at a table that has disconnect protection. That way I won't ever get cheated. AND it is cheating to time your self out!!!!!! Anyone that did it at the tables I was at got turned in. |

[/ QUOTE ] Yeah that post is full of disinformation. You don't get disconnect protect for taking to long to act, you will simply be folded out of the hand. If you pull the wire out of the back of your modem you will be disconnected and if you have any money in the pot, you will be treated as all in for whatever money you have in the pot. Reportedly some people abuse this feature but I've never seen anybody who I thought was doing anything other than having connection problems. BTW, I know about the wire and the modem thing, not because i've been abusing DP, but because when I've had computer glitches and need to reboot, if you shut down party you get kicked off the tables...if you disconnect the modem then shut down and reboot, it takes you back to your tables when you crank Party back up. |

Re: What is (no DP)?
Party added these tables after all the complaints about how frustrating it was to play against dumb people.
So now you can play on the "No Dumb People" tables. Want to know if you are dumb or not? Click here: http://www.partypoker.com/AreYouADum...cationTest.htm |
